The Korean Government has an Executive, Legislative, and Judicial branch
Executive- The State Administration Council, or cabinet, is the dominant administrative and executive agency. The Supreme People's Assembly not only appoints members to the SAC, but also elects the Head of Government.
Legislative- The SPA has little real power and only meets one or two weeks each year. The Assembly serves but a single purpose, to ratify decisions already made by the ruling Korean Workers Party.
Judicial- North Korea's legal system is based on German civil law with Japanese influences and Communist legal theory. The Central Court has no review over legislative acts.
